The Judgement of Paris

Nominally a "commemorative plate", in reality this is an 8.5 inch bas-relief carving done in Incolay cameo stone on black onyx. Unfortunately, it is essentially impossible to convey the beauty of it on this page. You'll just have to take our word for it.

Created in the fifth month of 1988 by Alan Brunettin for Incolay Studios, one of the best parts is the explanation of the plate that is included with it, written by Richard Pollack. We're not bothering to reproduce the text in full as it's lengthy and you already know the story. Instead, here's just the funny bit:

"According to legend, Eris, the evil goddess of discord, is not well-liked on Olympus (which the ancient greeks believe to be the home of the gods)..."

Not a single mention of the fact that the ancients Greeks were delusional greyfaces with severe indigestion. Historical revisionism at work.
